The thing I love about a side like Caprese Salad is how versatile it really is. This is a dish that can be served as an appetizer, or along side a great entrée. It is a fun, fresh dish that can be assembled a number of different ways, but the taste and the flavor is the same- mouth watering goodness! With four simple ingredients, and a quick assemble, you and your guests will be noshing on this Italian favorite in no time! Let's Cook!
The Tools
Cutting Board
Knife
Platter
Ingredients
Four (4) medium to large fresh tomatoes (I used beefsteak)
16oz Fresh Mozzarella (sliced or whole)
Balsamic Glaze
Fresh Basil
Let's Cook
Take your tomatoes and slice into thicker cuts and arrange on platter (you should get 3-4 slices per tomato depending on size of tomato)
Take mozzarella and slice enough pieces to top your tomato slices (you'll have extra to nosh on)
Place a basil leaf on each tomato/cheese piece.
Take balsamic glaze and drizzle across the top of each, moving glaze back and forth over entire platter creating a drizzle pattern.
Take and eat!
Alternate Assembly Ideas
Cut your tomatoes and cheese into cubes. Chop basil and drizzle with glaze.
Serve your Caprese Salad over Arugula for an extra bit of flavoring.
